What do we leave in the palm of our hand to give to new generations?

WE, us, a community that defines us as individuals? A sense of belonging, where?

Across time and generations we continue to ask ourselves about our identity, our place, our future.

Ours?

WE is the new creation of MAL PELO. A spectacle where María Muñoz and Pep Ramis share with twelve performers from different origins and generations the poetic language that characterizes them.

Inspired by the ambivalence of the individual and community, and based on the John Berger poem Separation, we shall delve into the journey, emigration, the loss of place as a reference, concentrating on developing the basic principle of movement: walking.

“Everyday, people follow signs that point to somewhere that is not their homw, but a destination they decide to go to. Signs on roads, boarding at some airport, notices at the terminals. Some make their journeys for pleasure, others for business, many motivated by loss or desperation. When they arrive, they end up realizing that they are not in the place indicated by the signs they followed. Where they are has the right latitude, longitude, local time and currency and yet it lacks the specific gravity of the destination they chose.
They find themselves near the place they chose to arrive, but the distance that separates them is incalculable.
The place has lost what made it a destination. It has lost its experience as a territory.”
